This is a different sort of recipe which was given to me by my mummy. She loves to try new varieties of dishes and  will not forget to send our share.

1 cup cabbage cut finely
3 green chillies chopped finely
½ a shallot or onion cut finely

1 tomato cut
½ cup onion
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp chillie powder
½ tsp coriander powder
¼ tsp gram masala

Soak the channa dhal at least for 4 hours.

Grind to a fine paste. Do not add water.
Mix the cabbage, ground channa dhal, chopped green chillies, chopped onions, salt, chillie powder, coriander powder and coriander leaves.

Make into small balls the size of a small lime.

Deep fry in medium heat till it turns golden brown.

And keep aside.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds.

When it cracks add cumin seeds, urud dhal and curry leaves. Fry for 20 seconds .

Put coriander leaves on top. I did not have coriander leaves to add.

Serve with rice, naan or any kind of bread.
Enjoy.....
