Ingredients
500g fish
2 medium size onions or shallots
1 big tomato
Few curry leaves
½ tsp ginger paste
½ tsp garlic paste

¼ tsp fenugreek seeds
1 inch cinnamon stick
½ tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ - 1 tsp chillie powder (according to your taste)
1 tsp lime juice
½ tsp gram masala
¼ tsp sugar (optional)
1-2 tbsp oil
Method
Marinate the fish with salt, chillie powder, turmeric powder and lime juice and keep for 1 hour.

½ tsp gram masala
¼ tsp sugar (optional)
1-2 tbsp oil
Method
Marinate the fish with salt, chillie powder, turmeric powder and lime juice and keep for 1 hour.
Heat half of the oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds and cinnamon. Fry till the
mustards crack.
Add the curry leaves, ginger and garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes.
Add the onion cut into cubes and fry till they become soft.
Add the tomato cut into small cubes and fry till oil separates.
Cool the mixture for 5 minutes and grind to a paste.
Heat rest of the oil and add curry leaves and cumin seeds.
Fry for one minute and add the marinated fish.
Cover and cook on medium heat for about 5 minutes.
Add about ½ cup water and allow to cook.
After 7-10 minutes add the ground masala and cook for 5 more minutes.
Add the gram masala and sugar and keep for 1 minute. According to your taste you can add salt.
The Masala fish is ready to be served.
Add corriander leaves or mint leaves on top.
