Fish with ground coconut



Ingredients
500g  fish.
4 tbsp grated coconut.
2 medium tomatoes.
1 large onion.
1 tsp white poppy seeds.
½ tsp mustard seeds.
½ tsp fenugreek seeds.
1 inch cinnamon stick.
Few curry leaves.
½ tsp garlic paste.
½ tsp ginger paste.
1 tsp salt.
½ tsp turmeric powder.
½ tsp pepper powder.
¾ - 1 tsp chillie powder.
1 tsp curry powder.
1 tsp lime juice.
1½ cups water.
Coriander leaves to garnish.
2 tbsp oil.

Method
Marinate the fish with lime juice, salt, turmeric powder, pepper powder, chillie powder and curry powder and keep for half an hour. 

Grind the coconut, 1 tomato, ½ a onion and white poppy seeds to a fine paste. 

Add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves and cinnamon stick to the heated oil. Fry for a few minutes. 

Add the ginger and garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes. 

Add the rest of the onion and the tomato. 

Fry for about 5 – 7 minutes till the oil separates on the sides. 

Add the fish and cook for 5 minutes.

Add the ground coconut and cook for 5 minutes. 

Add the water and cook covered till the fish is ¾ done. 

Add ½ of the coriander leaves and cook for 2 minutes. 

When its done sprinkle with some coriander leaves.

Serve with plain rice and vegetable curries.
