Butter Cookies

This recipe also was requested by my sister for my niece’s birthday party. I am sure my sister will find this recipe very easy as well as the others. These cookies are very crunch and give a buttery taste. Hope my niece will enjoy eating this.

Ingredients
200g flour.
100g fine sugar.
50g butter.
¼ tsp baking powder.
1 egg.
½ tsp vanilla essence.

Method
Sieve flour and baking powder and keep aside.
Put butter to the mixer and beat for 5 minutes.

Add the sugar and beat until it becomes creamy.

Add the egg and the vanilla essence and beat for 3 minutes.

Add flour little at a time and beat till its mixed well.

Grease a baking sheet.
Heat the oven to 180C for 10 minutes.
Sprinkle some flour on to the work surface and take ¼ of the dough and roll to about 5-7 mm thick with a rolling pin.

Cut with a cookie cutter or

Use a cookie maker and press on to the baking sheet.

Bake for 15-20 minutes.
When the cookies are about to turn brown take it out of the oven.

When you take it out it will look soft but do not panic when it cools it will become hard.
Leave it to cool on the baking sheet and bake your next batch in a separate baking sheet.
Soon after taking out of the oven you can decorate with jam.

Your butter cookies are ready to be served.
