Udu Wada



Ingredients
250g urad dhal.
5 green chillies cut finely.
1 big onion cut finely.
10-15 curry leaves cut finely.
¾ tsp salt.
1/8 spoon bai carbonate of soda.
Oil for deep frying.

Method
Soak the urud dhal for 4-5 hours.
Drain the water and grind well to a thick paste.
You can add little water while grinding.

Add green chillies, onion, curry leaves, salt and bai carbonate of soda.
 
Mix well.
 
In moderate temperature heat the oil.
Wet your hand with water as the dough will be sticky.
Take a small ball to your hand and flatten a little.
Press the middle with your thumb so that it will form a hole.

Slowly slide it to the oil.
 
Fry turning till its golden brown.


 
Serve while its hot with coconut chutney.
