Fried Fish with Coconut Milk



Ingredients
Marinating
500g white fish.
¾ tsp chillie powder.
1 tsp salt.
¼ tsp turmeric powder.
½ a lime juice.

Gravy
1 tomato cubed.
½ a onion cut finely.
Few curry leaves.
¼ tsp fenugreek seeds.
Few garlic pods cut finely.
1 inch piece cinnamon.
1 cup coconut milk.
¾ tsp chillie powder.
¼ tsp turmeric powder.
½ tsp curry powder.
½ tsp salt.
Oil for deep frying.

Method
Marinate the fish and keep for 1 hour.
 
Deep fry the fish in moderate heat and keep aside.

Add the tomatoes, onion, garlic, curry leaves, fenugreek seeds, cinnamon, salt, turmeric powder, chillie powder, curry powder and ½ a cup water to a pan.
 
Cook on moderate heat for 10 minutes till the onions are cooked.
Add the coconut milk and allow to boil.
 
Add the fried fish and cook for a few minutes.
 
Serve with rice, hoppers or string hoppers.
