Spicy Chicken Masala
500g chicken
3 tbsp oil
1 tsp salt
½ tsp
turmeric powder
1 tsp chillie
powder
1 ½ tsp
pepper powder
2 big onions
chopped
1 tbsp
ginger and garlic paste
2 tomatoes
chopped
¼ tsp cumin powder
1” piece
cinnamon
¼ cup
chicken broth or 1 soup cube dissolved in ½ cup water
½ tsp gram
masala
1 tsp lemon
juice
Coriander leaves
Method
Heat 1 ½ tbsp
oil. Add salt, turmeric powder, chillie powder& pepper powder.
Stir for few
seconds.
Add the
chicken.
Fry for about
5 – 10 minutes till the chicken is done.
Remove the
chicken and move to a different pan.
Heat rest of
the oil & add onions & saute till soft.
Add ginger
garlic paste & stir for 1 minute.
Add tomatoes
& stir till it becomes soft.
Add cumin
powder, cinnamon, chicken and chicken broth.
Add ¼ cup
water & mix. Cover & cook till the chicken is cooked for about 15 – 20 minutes.
Add gram
masala & stir.
Remove from
heat & add lemon juice.
Garnish with
coriander leaves.
